POKOTABI / Uomichi
魚ミチ
Located in the Shin-bamba area, izakaya Uomichi offers seafood rice bowls topped with tuna and salmon, crisp shrimp and sillago tempura bowls, nigiri sushi, sashimi, and small dishes paired with drinks.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Just a short walk from Shin-bamba Station, Uomichi draws seafood lovers around the clock. The dining room revolves around counter seating in a calm setting, fitting equally well for a quick solo midday meal or an unhurried evening settled over drinks.
Midday appetites are well served by bowls like the kaisendon, which arranges tuna, salmon, white fish, minced fatty tuna with scallions (negitro), and shrimp over white rice, alongside glossy tekka-don bowls of sliced raw tuna. Crisp fried dishes balance the raw seafood, including a hearty tendon loaded with tempura shrimp, sillago (kisu), vegetables, and egg, as well as crunchy deep-fried horse mackerel set meals.
As the evening gets underway, smaller plates like minced seasoned horse mackerel (aji no namerou), sesame mackerel (goma saba), and crisp fried octopus provide a pleasant opening for drinks. Snacking casually on individual nigiri pieces like horse mackerel or cured mackerel (shime-saba), or thin rolls of plum with shiso and tuna, pairs naturally with dry sakes like Yuki no Bosha and Koshino Kagetora.
Substantial rice bowls and set meals remain on the menu throughout the night, making it easy to drop in purely for dinner on days when you prefer a proper meal without heavy drinking.
